Aqua Blue Sport is Ireland’s first Pro-Continental Cycling Team and a proud partner of fi’zi:k.
Founded by Irish business man Rick Delaney, ABS has a proud Irish ethos of hard work combined with a high energy competitive streak. Based in Delaney’s hometown of Cork City, located near the south coast of Ireland, the organisation also has a mainland Europe base in Monaco.
Aqua Blue Sport has a roster of 16 riders including team leader Lars Petter Nordhaug, 2016 British National Road Race champion Adam Blythe, former world track champion Martyn Irvine and more. The vision for Aqua Blue Sport is one of sustainable funding with an eCommerce venture running in tandem with the competitive elements.
The Aqua Blue Sport riders are supported by a top tier backroom team composed of Sporting Directors Nicki Sørensen and Tim Barry; Performance Directors Leigh Bryan and Stephen Barrett; Team Doctor Alan Farrell and General Manager Stephen Moore.
The ultimate goal for Aqua Blue Sport is to participate at a World Tour level by year four and compete in the Tour de France, but for now sights are firmly set on the 2017 Professional Continental season.
