ADAPTIVE SADDLES COLLECTION
Every cyclist is unique in the way they approach the sport, their motivations and, perhaps most importantly, their body type. And nowhere are these differences more significant than at the most sensitive point of connection between rider and bike: the saddle. A properly fitting saddle must address many factors such as rider weight, sit-bone width, riding position, terrain type and more. In our ongoing quest to design a better-quality bike ride, we’ve reached the next stage of evolution in cycling saddle technology—the fizik Adaptive saddle.
Advancements in the development of 3-D printing technology have allowed for new production techniques that surpass the constraints of more traditional saddle construction methods. Harnessing the power of 3-D printing, we have created an entirely new padding for our Adaptive saddles through a process known as Digital Light Synthesis.
DLS, as it’s also known, is an additive process that utilizes digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to manufacture our Adaptive saddle padding. The result is a zonal saddle that allows for fine-tuned, progressive cushioning across the entire surface, delivering the right levels of comfort and support for riders of many differing body types. Beyond being more comfortable, the padding in our Adaptive saddles is also durable, resilient and weather resistant.
Available with either a full-carbon or carbon-reinforced nylon shells and both our lightweight carbon rail system or ultra-durable Kium hollow rails, our Adaptive line-up of 3-D printed cycling saddles represents a major leap forward in engineering comfort and performance for an overall better bike ride, from road to gravel and beyond.
