A 3D PRINTED PADDING
The evolution of digital 3D printing allowed us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. The Adaptive saddle padding is crafted by Carbon using its revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process which uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen permeable optics, and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish.
TAILORED ZONAL CUSHIONING
Using Carbon technology, biomechanists and engineers have an unprecedented possibility: to design and manufacture multiple functional zones within the saddle, tuning each of them separately for specific mechanical properties.Each of these key functional zones is engineered with a distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, joined together progressively and seamlessly in the same padding.
LAB TESTED, ROAD PROVEN
Professional cyclists and amateur riders were tested in both the fizik labs and on the road. During each development phase, every iteration was carefully tested. A great focus has been put on understanding how the pressure patterns change according to different bike geometries, riding positions, and riding styles.

Thanks to this one-of-its-kind combination of process and material, we’ve been given the chance to develop a product five times faster, creating and field-testing hundreds of iterations. Being applicable to mass production, this technology completely remaps the traditional manufacturing process, accelerating and leaping over all intermediate phases.
LONG-LASTING PERFORMANCE
The saddle is very easy to clean. Even with the filthiest road muck, all you need to do is simply hose it over with water. Whatever gets in, gets out. We’ve put it through the most severe tests, simulating accelerated weathering, UV aging and wear resistance by following strict protocols.

Passé d'une selle de 155mm à celle ci en 139mm, plus de pincement provoquant des irritations, donc très satisfait mais je ne sais pas si c'est la technologie adaptive ou juste la taille, en tout cas, bien qu'assez ferme, elle me semble confortable. La selle ne glisse pas, ce qui peut plaire à certain, mais j'aimais bien pouvoir glisser sur ma précédente selle.

The overall quality of the saddle is excellent, but do to my own assumptions I was of the belief that the fit would be similar to the Antares 149mm saddles that I have been running for over a decade. I have ridden several with the cut out, but most without. I have several Antares and Tundra saddles that I can sit for 5 hours on in complete comfort, but not this saddle. It appears to be for someone with slightly narrower sit bones than the standard Antares. The 3D printed surface has different levels support/cushion and gets softer moving out to the wings of the saddle, which I believe is causing the ridge of the cutout to put extra pressure on the soft tissue. It is also slightly taller than the standard Antares which was easily rectified by lowering the seat post slightly. If you do have narrower sit bones, it would be an excellent choice.

The saddle appears to be made well, I cannot deny that. But the ride was not what everyone raves about. I could not ride longer than 30-40 miles. I could feel the pain sneaking in around mile 20-25 and by the time I was in the 30-40 mile range I literally could not sit anymore. I had to stop my ride and I am accustomed to riding several 50-100 miles rides on a weekly basis. The pain would last into the next day which kept my riding time down for the two weeks I honestly tried to ride the Antares. I was forced to put my Fizik Ariante R3 back on the bike and my rides returned to normal. Unfortunately now I am stuck with a basically brand new saddle I cannot use.

The 3-D printed part of the saddle is excellent. Just a few rides so far, but the improvement over my traditional saddles is already clear. The only shortcoming - in appearance more then function - is the plastic base on which the 3D print is formed. It does not have the look and feel of a high quality product. It works to be sure, but the aesthetics leave something to be desired.
